This crisis has spiraled out of control. It's a total catastrophe. We've tried everything to fix it, but nothing seems to function. At this point, it feels like we're toast. Frankly, I don't know what else to do. This is a nightmare of epic proportions.

Sometimes you find yourself face-to-face with situations so horrifically bad that you can't help but smile. It's like your brain tries to make sense of the sheer magnitude of chaos and just throws its hands up, opting for laughter as a coping defense.

But then, you remember that it's not really hilarious. It's just plain terrible. And the laughter you were experiencing morphs into a groan.

Or were we just simply unfortunate enough to witness this spectacle unfold?

A Disaster of Epic Proportions

The tsunami struck suddenly, destroying entire towns in its path. Buildings shattered like house of cards, and the screams that followed was deafening. Dreadful Day Ever

It all started with my case of uncontrollable hair. I couldn't do it to look decent. As I was hurrying out the door, I trippedon and spilled all over my new shoes. To make matters worse, I was completely late for work.

It all started out horribly with a simple mishap/incident/screw-up. But then everything went from Very bad bad to absolutely terrible. A series/chain/cascade of unfortunate/awful/disastrous events unfolded/occurred/piled on top each other, leaving me feeling like I was in a nightmare/horror movie/comedy of errors. It's the kind of situation where you just want to throw your hands up.
